Her work has a lush style that has been described as uplifting, ethereal, sumptuous, and curiously quirky with the tang of taffy.
Angel Hawari was born & raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, very near the city of New Orleans. There she developed an eclectic appreciation for curious things & rich, emotive color. Primarily a painter, she is currently exploring textile mediums.
Textiles: Angel's interest in textile mediums had taken a back seat, but she's currently exploring Crochet, Art Dolls, Embroidery, and Sewing. This includes writing patterns for Crochet & Sewing projects as well as finished items for sale.
Painting: Angel’s paintings feature a host of original characters set in intricate environments reminiscent of staged theatrical scenes. Glowing light combined with lush color palettes & adorably awkward imaginary creatures aims for the hearts of pop surreal/fantasy/whimsical art lovers.
She currently lives & works in Minnesota with her clever husband, who can cook anything you could ever dream of eating, and their son who is as messily creative as his parents.
